If you're looking for a different sound, than a Gibson with humbuckers makes more sense than a Strat. If you like the Tele sound, but want the vibrato and everything else a Strat has, then they go well together and can swap between the two without any real concerns. The difference in sound is that Teles sound bigger, more low and top end, but ...
The HM Strat® features the flattest fingerboard with a radius of 17", while the Vintera '50s Stratocaster features the roundest fingerboard with a radius at 7.25". I set up my Strat with higher action than the Gibson. It's got a 7 1/4" radius board, so it'll fret out when you bend if you adjust it too low. It really isn't much harder to play though since the strings aren't too tight. I've found that screwing in the trem claw all the way with 5 low tension springs helps a lot.
It is so much more comfortable. It is only one pound of difference, but the Strat feels so heavy. And the belly cutaway on the back makes the Strat's body sit angled up, as opposed to completely parallel to my body, which I think it much more comfortable, esp. on my left wrist; less of an angle.
The Acoustasonic Strat ups the ante with an even more versatile range of tones than the superb Telecaster, and its inventive hybrid build remains a joy to play. £1,372 at PMT GB £1,399 at Scan £1,891.54 at Amazon Pros + Innovative design with sharp, lightweight build. + Very credible plugged-in acoustic voices. +
Fender's Best Stratocaster: Which Model Is Right for You? If you're on a budget, the best Stratocaster is Fender's Player. If you have a higher budget, I'd go with the American Performer Stratocaster, which delivers great value for money and can certainly be described as a forever guitar.
The Player Strat is equipped with an alder body rather than the SE's poplar, and its Player series alnico 5 pickups seem to deliver a bit more power and output than the 635JM 'S's. As such, the Player Strat is a killer choice for the guitarist who wants a modern tone to go along with the classic look of the Strat.
I'm not inclined to spend time and money making a TA sound like a Fender, any more than I'm inclined to make a Fender Strat into a "super Strat". And that's because there are builders (like TA/Suhr/etc) that already do that. If it makes any sense, I look at a TA as a guitar that wants to be a Tom Anderson guitar. I've never sensed TA & Co ...

Gear History If you looked at electric guitars through the lens of genealogy, the Stratocaster and Telecaster would seem like brothers born three years apart. Together, they carry the coat-of-arms of the family Fender: single-coil pop, bright articulation, and endless versatility.
Generally, a vintage style Strat is a little harder to play than a Les Paul. The strings are tighter due to the scale length and the action needs to be higher due to the tight fretboard radius. On the other hand, if you're used to high action and a lot of neck relief, a guitar with low action and very little neck relief (like a well set up Les ...

Most Strats come with a plastic nut, and while that is not inherently a bad thing, many players prefer a bone nut (or graphite or brass, depending on playing styles). Erlewine notes that Eric Johnson prefered the old-stock plastic Fender nuts over bone.
# 1 andfra 🎙️ Gear Head 🎧 5 years warmest sound between strat vs tele I try to deside if i want a tele or strat. I really want a warm sounding guitar, want fender because thats what ive used to. So... wich one is the warmest, fatest sounding guitar? Or wich one is most possible to transform with special mic to get more warm sounding?
It only looks bad to me because PRS reversed its headstock on the Silver Sky and the longer part goes against the flow of the body. If it were the regular PRS headstock, I think it would look good. Not small-headstock Strat good, but way better than most other designs that have been stuck on a S body over the years.
Key Differences Between Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster. Tone: Telecasters are more tonally distinctive, while Strats have more options due to the 5-way pickup selector. Shape: Strats also have body contours that make them very comfortable to play, and most Teles have a 'boxier' body cut. Both have the standard Fender 25.5" scale and ...
